When viewing XML docs, after a View/Refresh (or F5), Reflector will no longer close normally. A forced close (such as via Task Manager) is needed to close the application.

Hi.

Please can you send us some steps to reproduce this. If I start Reflector, view the xml documentation of System.Object (mscorlib 2), Refresh (via View menu or F5) and then close using either File/Exit or the close 'x', Reflector successfully shuts down for me.

Thanks

Clive,

So far, the only conditions in which I can reproduce this failure are when I have my own custom assembly open (which is large and contains a lot of XML docs), I specifically left-click in the documentation pane, and then I select View/Refresh. I do not know what is different between my assembly and mscorlib in this regard. Reflector still works fine with my own large assembly as long as I don't LEFT-CLICK in the doc pane. These problems occur with both Debug and Release versions of my assembly.

BTW, the new Reflector 7.5.0.901 has the same problem, seen under the same conditions.

Thanks for the information. I'll spend some time tomorrow trying to reproduce it.

I have spent some time trying to reproduce this without success. Is there any chance of us getting hold of an assembly (and xml documentation file) that demonstrates this problem? Thanks

My custom assemblies and their docs are pre-patent trade secrets, so sorry, no chance there. I will try and reproduce the issue using another assembly to which you would have access. The only notable asepect of my XML doc's might be that there is a lot within a single file.

By the way, your system didn't inform me via e-mail of your response, so I just now saw it because I went looking for it. I guess I'll have to revisit the notification feature of your forum.
